As a group we offer safe spaces and a community-led platform for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Community voices to be heard and actioned in meaningful ways. We operate under a Collective Impact Framework which is centred around giving power back to community to address complex social issues.
The five conditions of Collective Impact are:
Currently we offer two types of meetings, The Big Group Meeting (a culturally safe space to yarn) and the Working Groups (community-lead action/ change spaces).
We also provide an emailing list service where we keep community members up to date with current events, information and opportunities, in addition to our regular mail outs about the meetings.
An Elder’s Community hard copy Newsletter is currently in the works – please email us if you wish to add your address to this mailing list.
We work with anyone from the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Community through the Big Group Meeting. We make this an exclusive space for our mob as it is important that to have culturally safe spaces in order to get to the heart of issues that face our people. The smaller working groups is where our audience opens up slightly more. This is the appropriate setting where our non-indigenous allies can come and be present in the room and work towards change with us.
